The law decree designed to entrust the management of construction sites on the roads of the Anas network to an extraordinary commissioner has been postponed by at least a week.
The provision, presented by the Ministry of Infrastructure, was examined in the morning during the preparatory technical meeting, but did not then enter the agenda of the Council of Ministers which took place in the afternoon.
Technical insights and the Strait Bridge issue
According to what was explained by the MIT, further technical investigations are underway and some rules relating to the Bridge over the Strait of Messina, included in the text of the decree, remain to be refined.
Furthermore, political problems regarding the choice of commissioner, identified as the CEO of Anas Claudio Andrea Gemme, as anticipated by Repubblica, are denied.
The tensions in the majority
However, majority sources report that, in the preparation phase of the measure, some political issues also emerged. Fratelli d’Italia would have expressed reservations about the choice of a single commissioner.
On the other hand, the League would have raised doubts about another provision of the decree, proposed by the Minister of Sport Andrea Abodi, which would have allowed the commissioner for stadiums in view of the 2032 European Football Championship, Massimo Sessa, appointed in September, to also maintain the position of president of the Superior Council of Public Works.
However, optimism filters through about the possibility of overcoming the critical issues and presenting the decree in the next Council of Ministers.
