The die is cast (or almost). Pasquale Tridico is preparing to definitively leave the Regional Council. The formalization of the step aside will arrive in the next few hours – certainly after the closing of the polls in the Regions called to vote – and will allow Elisabetta Barbuto, former parliamentarian of the M5S, to enter the highest Calabrian legislative assembly. On the other hand, time is running out: law 18/1979 grants European parliamentarians 30 days to choose which position to aim for in the event of a simultaneous election to the Regional Council. Now, considering that the proclamation took place last October 27th, it is clear that the puzzle must be solved by next Thursday. Tridico will communicate the choice as a priority to the Palazzo Campanella offices, precisely so as not to fail to comply with some basic rules of institutional grammar.
