It’s almost time for November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and this year too, nursery schools in the area are preparing to experience special moments of reflection and awareness.
The initiative was born from the Vibosalus Social Cooperative, an organization actively involved in social issues for years and current manager of the municipal nurseries of Vibo Valentia and Rombiolo. The Cooperative, which has always been attentive to educational issues and harmonious growth, promotes this activity as a fundamental opportunity to raise awareness of the value of respect and kindness from early childhood.
The Little Protagonists of Respect
The municipal nursery “Oasi delle Coccole” in Vibo Valentia and the municipal nursery in Rombiolo “The village of hugs” will involve the little ones in tailor-made activities. Through games, the creative use of colors and music, children will learn in a playful way the importance of kindness, active listening and mutual respect.
The culminating moment will be a special collective workshop, during which the children will create significant symbols such as hearts, colored hands and small red shoes, to dedicate to all the women and female figures present in their daily lives.
A simple but profound gesture, to send a unique message together: “Respect is learned from childhood and builds a future without violence.”
The initiative will see significant institutional participation, underlining the transversality of the theme. They have already confirmed their presence:
- The Councilor for Social Policies, Lorenza Scrugli, for the Municipality of Vibo Valentia.
- The Mayor of Rombiolo, Caterina Contartese.
Furthermore, the Ariel Association will be present, an anti-violence center active since 2012 in the Calabrian area, which will provide its precious contribution to raising awareness.
Special support will come from the IPF – Institute for the Family, based in Ionadi (VV), which will donate gadgets to children, making the initiative even more participatory.
In the next few days, all eyes will be on the little protagonists, ready to send a message of love, respect and hope, waiting to experience this important day of mobilization together.
