Calabrian audiovisual and audiovisual is a compound cry but stops from the world of cinema and audiovisual. Twelve months after the publication of the Calabria Calabria Film Commission for support for productions, hundreds of professionals, technicians and companies in the area still await the publication of the final rankings.

In an open letter addressed to the Calabria Region and the same film Commission, dozens of operators in the sector have expressed “respect but also great concern” for the silence that, they denounce, lasts for too long.

“A year has passed since the publication of the announcement – reads the text – and despite the repeated requests for updating and the promise, during the meeting last August, that the rankings would have been made known by the end of the same month, nothing has been made public.”

A delay that, according to the signatories, risks bringing an already fragile sector, made up of small businesses, workers and workers who often operate in precarious conditions on their knees.

“This silence weighs – continues the letter – because behind each project there are people who have invested time, resources and energy. Without certainties and without programming, the entire sector cannot grow or live in dignified conditions.”

The professionals therefore ask for “clarity and urgency”: the publication of the rankings would not be a bureaucratic act, but a gesture of transparency and responsibility towards those who contribute to the cultural and economic development of the region.

“It is not a personal or party request – they write – but a collective necessity, to give continuity to a cultural industry that can represent a concrete opportunity for work, identity and development for Calabria.”

The letter is signed by numerous directors, producers, technicians, actresses and workers of the area to testify to a compact and transversal front: M.Giorgia Boccuzzi, Laura Stancanelli, Carmela Bilotto, Maria Angela Rotundo, Francesco Cristiano, Gianluca Salamone, Emanuele Spanish, Maria Paola Selvaggi, Maria Messina, Emiliano Chillico, Maria Concetta brush. By concluding their letter, the operators of the sector renew a direct appeal to the Region and the film Commission: N “With confidence we await that the Calabria Region and the Calabria Film Commission will demonstrate, with the facts, to really believe in this sector and in the people who animate it.”

A clear message that asks for not only answers, but also a long -term vision for a sector that in recent years has shown that he can give prestige and future to Calabria through the universal language of cinema.
