The extraordinary administration of Abramo Customer Care, spa, which has been ongoing since September 2020, will end on 7 November. The approximately one thousand workers, of whom around fifty are from Palermo who work in the headquarters in via La Malfa and the rest located in the offices in Calabria, live in a regime of uncertainty and have, at the moment, no hope of the continuity of their work and salary activities. But as if that wasn’t enough, already three months ago following the reduction in work volumes by the client Tim, a shock absorber was activated which, due to the absence of the implementing decree, means that the staff do not receive their wages. The situation worsened on November 1st when the entire basin was placed on 100 percent extraordinary redundancy pay. Tomorrow there will be a meeting at Mimit, Ministry of Finance and Economy, in the presence of clients, trade unions, Ministry of Labor and local institutions.
«Like Slc Cgil – says the general secretary of Slc Cgil Palermo Fabio Maggio – we will reiterate that the time for promises is over, concrete answers are needed both on the payment of the social safety net and on the future of Abramo Customer Care workers in view of the closure of the extraordinary administration scheduled for 7 November”. Abramo Customer Care is a very troubled story. The company has been operating in this sector for approximately twenty years and has been under extraordinary administration since 2020. Thanks to the law on social clauses for the change of call center contract, it has seen the vast majority of its employees move to other companiesremaining exclusively with the orders of the former Tim, which will no longer be renewed, ensuring that the workers are left without any future prospects. «In recent days – continues Fabio Maggio – the possibility of securing another 100 workers was also ruined by having Fibercop, the company that acquired the Tim network, activate the change of contract and therefore continuity of work for the assistance operators Tim’s technique 187. In recent years we have heard and seen everything: promises not kept, especially by clients and institutions that navigate by sight without being able to find concrete solutions that can guarantee all workers”.
