Today’s meeting in Rome between the CGIL, CISL and UIL trade union organizations and the Municipality ended positively, marking the favorable outcome of the dispute over the “Call Rome 060606” service.
The reasons for the mobilization and the withdrawal of the notice
Following the mobilization that began in December, with the proclamation of the state of unrest and the subsequent formal warning, the Municipality of Rome withdrew the tender notice, since, as we highlighted, it presented clear violations of the “Agreement for protected employment in tenders”, constituted contractual dumping and did not guarantee any protection to workers in the event of a change of contract, with the concrete risk of losing their jobs.
The new guarantees for workers
During today’s meeting, the Capitoline Administration accepted the union demands and, in compliance with the signed agreements, specified that in the new tender the reference collective agreement will be that of Telecommunications, there will be the application of the social clause and the principle of territoriality.
Furthermore, the discriminatory element that attributed an additional score to companies that hired staff in Rome was eliminated.
Union satisfaction and coherence of action
“We would like to express great satisfaction with this result, achieved thanks to the determination of the workers and the constant commitment of SLC CGIL Calabria. In every phase of the dispute, attention has always been paid exclusively to the protection of jobs and collective interests, values that have guided all our actions, and the facts have demonstrated the coherence and credibility of our work.
Let’s leave the teachers’ blue pencil to others, since day one we have jointly undertaken the path of struggle and controversy which have led to results that are there for all to see.”
