There are only six months left until the next administrative elections and, in Capo d’Orlando, calm reigns.
Official, or almost no, no name on the horizon, no political movement and total silence on future candidacies.
The rumors of a few months ago regarding the possible involvement of some political figures in the city have not been confirmed and so the electoral campaign, which seemed to have started albeit quietly, is still at a standstill.
In this complete immobility, a novelty could come from the Salvini League which could, again according to some local political commentators, line up for the highest seat in the city the only municipal councilor of its aggregation present at Palazzo Europa, namely Felice Scafidi. The interested party has so far neither confirmed nor denied, so including him among the eligible candidates seems correct.
As regards the current mayor, Franco Ingrillì, his administrative political destiny is always linked to the regional electoral law which, if not modified, places him among those mayors who are currently not eligible for candidacy due to having completed two consecutive terms.
Of the eligible candidates that rumors had placed in pool position a few months ago, Peppe Marici, close to Cateno De Luca, seems to have taken a step back because he was no longer seen on the administrative political scene after presenting the cultural association “Orgoglio Orlandino” to the public.
