Simone Pafundi will not be available against Pisa either: after Vicenza, the second consecutive withdrawal is a given. Catanzaro’s goal is to have the playmaker back for the away match in Bolzano on Saturday 5 September, on the third matchday, but recovery for that date is not yet certain: the presence of a small blood spill in the twin of one calf is proving to be a more annoying problem than it seemed in August, when the twenty-year-old was substituted in the second half of the Cup match against Sudtirol. It is clearly a major problem for Giorgio Gorgone, who once again has to do without one of the fittest and most technical players, a fundamental solution in the attacking midfield to be paired with Iemmello or Alesi. Pafundi was the author of the first official goal for the Giallorossi, scored with a left-footed volley following a cross from D’Alessandro against Sudtirol.
