The remains of the aircraft that crashed last Sunday in Fuscaldo will be transferred to a hangar at the Vibo Valentia military heliport to be assembled. The change of program – Crotone airport was initially planned – occurred in the last few hours. The experts appointed by the chief prosecutor Domenico Fiordalisi, the Air Force lieutenant Walter Curione and the trusted engineer of the Paola Prosecutor’s Office, Salvatore Cetraro, returned several times to the site of the accident for inspections.
The recovery of the ultralight is still underway also because the assembly – in order to then proceed with the relevant examinations – will have to concern the entirety of the aircraft. Among other things, a Carabinieri RIS device is being used, a combined three-dimensional laser-scanner technique to capture millions of points in space and create a three-dimensional point cloud of the accident scene which will allow every detail to be detected with millimeter precision.
