Catanzaro, collaboration agreement signed between the Municipality and the evangelical Christian association “El Shaddai” for the Longo park

This morning, at Palazzo De Nobili, the ceremony of handing over the keys of Parchetto “Pino Longo” to the evangelical Christian association “El Shaddai” took place. The agreement falls within the framework of the collaboration agreement stipulated with the Municipality of Catanzaro for the shared management and valorisation of urban common goods. In the past few months, the Municipal Administration has conducted a series of interventions to restore safety and decorum to Parco Longo, which remained abandoned for a long time.

The redevelopment works involved: General cleaning of the area, with the removal of elements in a state of decay; Replacement of benches, installing new quality wooden seats; Creation of treated wooden parapets to ensure safety and durability; Installation of a modern irrigation system, to preserve the greenery of the park; Adaptation of the lighting system, with the recovery and integration of existing lights; Restoration of the existing staircase and painting of the lift shaft; Implementation of a video surveillance system, with eight latest generation cameras to increase the security of the area. Present at the ceremony were the mayor of Catanzaro, Nicola Fioritathe deputy mayor, Giusy Iemmathe Councilor for the Environment, Irene Colosimothe president of the City Council, Gianmichele Boscoand the city councilor Gregorio Buccolieri.

Mayor Fiorita and councilor Colosimo praised the initiative of the “El Shaddai” association, highlighting the value of the Collaboration Pact. “This is a concrete example of active citizenship and participation. The association’s choice to take care of Parco Longo, after years of abandonment, demonstrates a great love for the city and for the future of our community. Their willingness to work for the common good it is a strong and positive signal that we want to underline and thank publicly.”

The mayor and councilor then highlighted the value of the redevelopment interventions carried out in recent months by the Municipal Administration. “Thanks to the works carried out, Parco Longo will return to being a safe and decent place, ready to welcome families and citizens. The handover of the keys to the ‘El Shaddai’ association represents the first step towards making it a lively and dynamic space”.
