The former general manager of the Apulian Hospital Ciaccio of Catanzaro were acquitted of the Court of Auditors Elga Rizzo and the former administrative director Vittorio Prejanò who had been sued for hypothesized tax damage for 5 million euros consequent from a transaction stipulated with the private clinic Villa S. Anna Hospital at the time.

The sentence issued by the jurisdictional section of Calabria today has fully accepted the defenses of the two defendants (the lawyer. Alfredo Gualtieri for Elga Rizzo and the lawyer. Luigi Comberiati for Vittorio Prejanò), noting, among other things, that “there was no malicious concealment of the damage since the company knew of the transactional case in progress with the clinic already from 2013.

According to the college there is documentary tests “from which it emerges in an irrefutable way as the leaders of the Administration” were all aware of the transactions, also because, “the payment took place in a traced, visible way, with identified reason”.

The affair, even before the summons, had caused a sensation because at the request of the accounting prosecutor’s office, preventive seizure had been ordered, then canceled by the college of the same Court of the Regional Auditors.
