Catanzaro has an extra Ambrosino: “The goal against Pisa was a unique emotion”

They waited a long time for him and he was in the right place at the right time. Maybe it was fate or maybe not, but Giuseppe Ambrosino chose one of the most complicated matches to give himself his first scratch in the Catanzaro shirt. Of capital importance. «I’m very happy with the goal, I’ve wanted it for a long time, also because the season hadn’t started in the best way for me. But above all I am happy for the team, which is demonstrating that it can really move forward”, said the Giallorossi striker.
Ambrosino replaced Iemmello in the 7th minute of the second half and thirty seconds later knocked out Pisa (then defeated 2-0) with an assist from Vandeputte. A goal from a true attacker, just as the celebration under “Capraro” was true and sincere. It seemed like a liberation and it doesn’t matter that the shirt flying off in joy cost him the yellow card: “I felt a unique emotion, I looked for this goal and finally I found it”, added the number 70.
Ambrosino had already scored in Serie B, with Como just under a year ago (18 December), with Cittadella in March, among other things always away, then from there he took satisfaction mainly with the Azzurri of the Under 20 national team, second in the World Cup, and entering the Under 21 team after his first appearances in Catanzaro.
Napoli loaned him to the Giallorossi one midsummer afternoon: he was already injured, but the club, sporting director Magalini and coach Vivarini have always had faith and didn’t force his return, they were patient (he was able to play his first minutes against Sampdoria on October 1st, after a month and a half of the championship) and on Saturday they achieved their first concrete result. «Regardless of who I play with I always try to give my best, it’s nice to have unblocked – underlined the boy from Procida –, this goal is very important for the national team and for me, but it is particularly important for Catanzaro, we wanted win and we did it. – he reiterated – Physically I’m fine now, I’m really at the top, when I was about to come on the coach, as always, told me to go to two thousand and give my all for the team because it was needed, because Pietro (Iemmello, ed.) wasn’t fit. well and he had to go out, so I had to take his place.”
Numbers. Ambrosino was the only pure striker who had not yet scored and became the tenth scorer for Catanzaro, who therefore expanded the number of participants in the cooperative, and is chasing the two who have done better (Palermo and Cittadella with twelve players each) .
Vandeputte provided the fourth assist of the championship, while Fulignati finished the sixth game without conceding a goal, proving to be fundamental in a couple of situations, both in the first and second half, in a test in which the quality was generally widespread: Ghion and Pompetti confirmed themselves as a good couple in the middle, Scognamillo and Brighenti implacable behind, Sounas was the developer of many dangerous actions and Katseris did not we’re talking about it, given that both of Catanzaro’s goals – and the two clearest chances before the break – were born from his runs down the right flank. More than the individuals, the collective deserved a fourth place in the rankings.
