The national vice-champion of Taewkondo, the Catanzaro native Francesco Gareriwas welcomed at Palazzo de Nobili by the mayor Nicola Fiorita and by the sports councilor Antonio Battaglia to receive a plaque of commendation from the municipal administration. The 25-year-old athlete stood out at the recent Italian Taekwondo fighting championships, in the Olympic -80kg category, which were held in Caorle in the province of Venice, also contributing to the success of the Team Donato Taekwondo Academy as champion school for the senior categories masculine. “Another example of excellence – commented Fiorita and Battaglia – which demonstrates the quality and competitiveness of our young athletes to whom we extend our most sincere applause for having brought the name and colors of Catanzaro to the national podiums”. Gareri, accompanied by his family and the team’s technical director, Raffaele Donatois already projected towards the next competition scheduled for the interregional fighting in Rossano.
