Two years spent separated at home, in a majority focused more on tasks than on programs. This morning, Forza Italia municipal and regional councilor Antonello Talerico explained the reasons that led him to leave the alliance that has supported Mayor Nicola Fiorita so far.

On the immediate future, Talerico claims that the operation underway consists of calling individual councilors to make them enter or remain in the majority. “They will ask in exchange – he emphasizes – for tasks or positions, certainly not for questions of merit. As in the past, the mayor negotiates with individual councilors, thus putting himself in check and under blackmail.” Harsh judgment on the Action group: “He has publicly declared in recent months that he would do everything to send this Council home by denouncing illegal or illegitimate acts, now how will he justify the change of direction?”
On the hypothesis of resignation to bring forward the end of the council term by three years, Talerico says he is available but warns: «It is still too early to pull the plug, we cannot have the regional capital under special administration for 8-9 months, it would mean definitively burying the city. Therefore, to be able to go to the vote in May-June, we could resign in January. Let’s open a table of the center-right, then we’ll see who tells the truth, who is coherent, also because this statement of mine will test both the majority and the opposition».
