It started this morning at the Catanzaro juvenile penitentiary institute, with a meeting hosted by Domenico Iannacone, the fifth edition of YOU BEGIN TO MAKE HER LOVEthe Christmas festival of the Municipality of Catanzaro, supported by the Calabria-Calabria Extraordinary Region as an event of great tourist interest – PAC Calabria Funds 2014-2020 and created with the organizational support of the Politeama Foundation.
The well-known journalist and television author was the guest of honor at the initiative called “Legal’Age”created by the artistic direction in collaboration with the National Association of Magistrates. At the meeting, moderated by the journalist Rosita Mercatante – intervened John StrangisPresident of the Executive Board of the National Magistrates Association – District of Catanzaro, Valeria Cavallettidirector of the Community for Juvenile JusticeMaria Alessandra RubertoChief Prosecutor of the Juvenile Court of Catanzaro, Francesco Pellegrinodirector of Ipm e Teresa Chiodopresident of the Juvenile Court. Also present was the culture councilor of the municipality of Catanzaro, Donatella Monteverdi.
Iannacone’s narration was supported by the screening of ten video fragments dedicated to the protagonists of the interviews conducted for his documentaries including Davide Cerullo and Mirko Frezza. The journalist proposed a profound reflection on the theme of redemption. “Make mistakes to redeem yourself” was the message he wanted to convey to young prisoners, underlining the importance of rediscovering one’s inner freedom, even in conditions of deprivation. “It was a meeting that broke distances – declared Iannacone during the press conference which took place at the Gallerie del San Giovanni. – I like places without barriers, which allow authentic closeness. Entering a prison, especially for juveniles, offers a different perspective on society, allowing us to grasp aspects that often escape us in our daily lives”. The journalist recounted the experience of the theater in the Volterra prison, led by Armando Punzo and the Compagnia della Fortezza, a project that has inspired academic studies at an international level: “Prison is a closed place, but the theater has demonstrated that it can become a space of emancipation and rebirth. Let’s ask ourselves how much our life is worth And let’s be aware of it. This is the first step towards freedom.”
The artistic director of Let her love you begin Antonio Pascuzzounderlined the symbolic value of the opening event: “It was an emotional day. This morning’s meeting was intense, with young people who found the theater as a means to express themselves. I believe that realities like these deserve more visibility and resources. Initiatives like this help to reflect and qualify the meaning of our festival.” The culture councilor Donatella Monteverdi added that: “A Farla Amare Partecipa Tu is not just a series of shows, but an opportunity to bring beauty and reflection even to marginal places. Christmas reminds us of the importance of starting from the least, of lowering the tone and building a world with less anger. This is the message we want to convey with the festival.”

After the opening concert of Amalia Grè at the oratory of the Carmine church You begin to make her love you, it continues tomorrow, Saturday 21 December, in Piazzetta delle Libertà where the party is scheduled “Peanuts” with the DJ set of Fabio Nirtain collaboration with Factory+.
