The acquisition of a portion of Palazzo “Scaccomatto” by the Municipality has been postponed to Monday. Yesterday the City Council meeting was deserted, prompting President Gianmichele Bosco to call for the second meeting. The approval of the practice, which will also involve a change in the budget, is still at the center of the majority discussion table, after the Action group’s appeal for the simultaneous approval of an act that gives a clear perspective to Catanzaro Servizi. The investee company itself is in fact currently the owner of the leasing which the administration will close with the payment of approximately 1.8 million, thus relieving its controlled spa from a burdensome annual installment.
The meetings held so far have not led to a definitive point but, given the close date for the discussion of the item on the agenda, it is likely that it will be tightened quickly. Although there is no shortage of those in the majority who tend to underline that “supporting this decision means having the future of Catanzaro Servizi at heart”.
In essence, Azione, as explained in these columns in recent days by the councilor Gianni Parisi, requests that a document be approved at the same time as the acquisition, be it a policy document or other formal commitment, for the assignment to the fully owned company of the Municipality of economically relevant services, such as to allow it to calmly face the debt and to walk on its own feet, thus strengthening its accounts. Among the hypothesized services are the port piers, the port itself once completed – a motion by councilor Eugenio Riccio which aims for public management of the structure will also be discussed in the chamber – and advertising systems.
