The Catanzaro Police Headquarters issued five aggravated oral notices against as many subjects burdened by numerous police records and criminal convictions passed by res judicata. The adoption of the personal prevention measure was arranged against four individuals residing in Lamezia Terme and a subject of Roma ethnicity, residing in Viale di Isonzo in Catanzaro.
The recipients of the aggravated oral notices are to have precedents for crimes of particular gravity, including aggravated theft, criminal association, extortion, possession of drugs for drug dealing purposes.
In particular, the person residing in Catanzaro was sentenced with an irrevocable sentence by the Court of Catanzaro, in 2022, to six years of imprisonment and a fine of 8,000 euros for the crime of continued extortion in competition.
The four individuals residing in Lamezia Terme are, however, burdened by numerous precedents for illegal activities, including illegal management of waste, damage, aggravated theft, robbery, scam, recycling and criminal association. In July 2024, the Court of Catanzaro sentenced them to three months of imprisonment and a fine of 200 euros for the crime of receiving stolen goods in competition.
By virtue of these elements, the Quaestor has adopted the personal prevention measure in the aggravated form of the oral notice towards them, pursuant to article 3 of the anti -mafia code (Legislative Decree 159/2011). This provision imposes specific restrictions on recipients, with the aim of dissuading them from persisting in criminal conduct and in order to protect public safety.
In the event of reiteration of the crimes, and therefore for having disregarded the invitation of the Quaestor as the Provincial Public Security Authority, the special surveillance measures of Public Security may be proposed to the Court.
The adoption of these measures falls within the scope of the prevention and control of the territory arranged by the Catanzaro Police Headquarters for the fight against widespread and organized crime, with the aim of guaranteeing greater safety to the community.
