Between shutters that are definitively lowered and rumors of further closures, the present of commerce in the historic center of Catanzaro is experiencing a new wave of crisis. This is demonstrated by the meetings that have taken place on several occasions, especially in the last few days, between associations of commercial operators and the Municipality and by the concern that emerges from the press notes following the meetings.
In fact, in recent weeks, the number of businesses that have decided to close up shop or move elsewhere has seen a worsening trend. It is a count that has been updated, now without interruption, for twenty years. Today, the shutters are also lowered due to a national and international situation that finds substance in an economic system in clear crisis in which wages remain unchanged while the price of consumer goods gallops.
