Catanzaro: towards the 2027 administrative elections, first steps in the centre-right

First the referendum, then Parco Romani, finally the works at Lamezia Terme airport. Even if we want to believe that three clues do not prove, it is undeniable that something is moving in the center-right of Catanzaro in view of the electoral appointment in which the city will have to choose the mayor for the five-year period 2027-2032.
The first of the three clues, a few days ago: Sergio Costanzo, record holder of preferences and backbone of Forza Italia in the city, made known his position on the referendum of November 29th, in which Calabria will be called to express its opinion on whether or not to maintain the figures of undersecretaries in the regional council. Costanzo’s position is in clear antithesis with the choice of Occhiuto, who had established those undersecretaries: “I believe that at this moment Calabria needs fewer tasks and more answers.”
And he then added, underlining how political efforts should be concentrated above all on healthcare: «The work that President Occhiuto is carrying out in other sectors is certainly important and, in many cases, deserves to be recognized and appreciated. But today we must have the courage to say that an even greater effort is needed on healthcare.”
