The smoke has not yet fully taken on the shades of white but, according to the experts, it is now just a question of the smallest details. The tender for the assignment of the separate waste collection service is about to obtain approval from the trade union forces who yesterday, at Palazzo De Nobili, returned for the third time to discuss the contents of a document with the municipal administration which will have to guarantee a strategic service for the environment and hygiene of the capital but also the protection of employment levels. Themes, the second in particular, which blew up the previous draft at the end of last July and are still a source of political controversy today.
Yesterday, therefore, the confrontation between the mayor, Nicola Fioritaand the Environment Councilor, Irene Colosimo – supported by managers at the various levels of the competent sector – with the trade union representatives of FP Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uil Trasporti, Fiadel and Sul. Outside, in front of the municipal building, a large representation of workers currently employed by Sieco, the current company that provides the service, eager to know the contents and decisions of a tender on which their employment future will also depend.
The meeting took place, also on this occasion, it was highlighted in a note from Palazzo De Nobili, «in a climate marked by constructive dialogue, in the common and confirmed desire to guarantee the quality of the service to the citizens together with the maintenance of the employment levels”.
