The president of Confindustria Cosenza looks ahead with confidence Giovan Battista Perciaccantealthough some factors weigh on overall ratings. The value of some positive data leads him to reflections that focus on hope for a bright future: those related to the dynamics of tourism, the dynamism in exports of local productions which are improving in terms of quality, the overall stability of the regional economic system.
“2024 – underlines the leader of the Cosenza industrialists Perciaccante – was a year of extraordinary growth for regional air transport. We recorded a historical record for Calabrian airports: 3.6 million passengers were exceeded. The tourist offer of our region is growing more and more thanks also to a positive discussion on the merits of the strategic plan which links tourism-work-environment”.
In reference to 2025, for President Perciaccante “it will be a dynamic and complex year that we hope it can be characterized by progress for the economy and society”. His thoughts immediately turn to “the various unknowns that weigh on the European and global macroeconomic scenario which have clear cascading repercussions on national and territorial dynamics: tariffs, the weakness of German industry and the automotive crisis to which must be added the prospects for the Italian manufacturing industry which remain weak. In fact, despite the positive push of the Pnrr, analysts hypothesize zero growth for investments. And this is very worrying.”
Looking at what has happened, the president of Confindustria Cosenza underlines that “we have left behind difficult and complex months, in which, despite everything, there was a general stability of businesses. But this is still not enough! To see our companies grow and make the area more attractive and livable, we need a new and extraordinary collective effort that starts from everyone’s sense of responsibility, recovering dignity and pride in their role. The hope is that public decision-makers, institutions, associations and communities in general will also support and not place obstacles in the way of possible development processes and are committed to working in synergy to create opportunities for growth for Calabria, capable of making a leap towards institutional modernisation, efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative structure, social cohesion”.
For Confindustria Cosenza, 2025 must be a year full of demanding challenges. “The lowest common denominator of everything – concludes President Perciaccante – must be safety and the affirmation of legality. There must be no lack of courage in knowing how to risk the proposal and the will to involve and make the protagonists of the social and institutional forces dialogue in order to be able to stimulate dynamism and points of excellence, building institutional and social consensus around them to give life to far-reaching policies. structural suitable to guarantee long-lasting social and economic growth and development. As a trade organization we have never stopped in the work of comparing and sharing proposals with the relevant stakeholders on issues of real interest for the economy and businesses, in order not to lose the positive results achieved. The intense action carried out at all levels and in all locations to maintain the benefits of the so-called Southern Contribution Relief applies to all of them”.
The activity scheduled for next Friday 17 January at 10.30 am, at the Confindustria Cosenza headquarters, is part of this direction, when we will discuss support for quality tourist hospitality in Calabria, during the seminar organized with the president Aldo Ferrara of Unindustria Calabria and the president of the Tourism Section of Unindustria Calabria Cristina Gazzaruso, with the interventions of the Economic Development councilors Rosario Vari e to Tourism and Work Giovanni Calabrese. “The opportunity will be useful to continue to communicate and discuss with the leaders of the regional administration and work on the definition of concrete programs for one of the strategic supply chains for the growth of the regional economy”.
