We were ready for sensational actions because democracy must be defended and for this reason, after having asked several times to be included in the budget commission as specified in the ARS regulation, we decided to occupy the budget commission”, say Ismaele La Vardera, Josè Marano, Alessandro De Leo and Carlo Gilistro.
“It is not acceptable that a parliamentary group representing Sicilian citizens cannot control, vote and discuss any proposals in the budget commission – they add – We asked President Galvagno to be present in the commission, we wrote to him in July and raised the problem in the chamber and in the group leaders’ meeting last week. We are on the eve of the budget change, a change of over a billion euros of public money and it is not acceptable that we can only attend as listeners and not be able to participate in the work with the right to vote. The Sicilian parliament, the parliament oldest in the world, respect democracy, we are not moving from here.”
