The interventions to reduce the tax pressure on the population of Botricello continue, thanks to a series of targeted interventions desired by the Municipal Administration led by the Mayor Saverio Simone Puccio.

After the reduction of the IMU, which started last year, from 10.6 to 10.4 and the delivery of shopping vouchers for needy families for a total amount of over 50,000 euros intended for around 320 families, the new action of Municipal Administration concerns above all young people.

In fact, the payment of the “fee” required for the celebration of promises and weddings has been eliminated. In practice, until December 31st, couples who chose to carry out these rites were forced to pay huge sums ranging between 20 and 350 Euros, depending on the case.

The choice of the Puccio Administration was to eliminate this type of tax, with the aim of helping couples who already have to deal with wedding expenses and the financial crisis. With a resolution of the municipal council, free admission was introduced for most of the ceremonies, while only in some specific cases are significantly reduced sums foreseen. In particular, the only payments foreseen concern particular cases for non-residents, but in any case reduced by a third compared to the previous provisions.

Added to this is that, on the indication of the Mayor, the bans on celebrating the rites on some public holidays were eliminated, according to a theory that penalized the spouses by forcing them to avoid dates which, instead, were useful because they were non-working days.

“We are building a targeted path of tax reduction – stated Mayor Puccio – while maintaining the balance sheet firmly, thanks to a responsible and prudent action carried out by the Deputy Mayor with responsibility for the Budget Giovanna Puccio, by the head of the Financial Area Marianna Lodari and by the head of the Tax Office Rosario Froio”.

The Deputy Mayor with responsibility for the Budget added: “The interventions prepared to date, which will be followed by others, are mainly aimed at people in need and the new generations, with the reduction of the IMU which, however, concerns the entire population”.

The idea of intervening on tariffs for wedding ceremonies arose after realizing, in the first half of the legislature, that those tariffs were becoming unsustainable and inappropriate for families and young people who already had to deal with wedding expenses. A constant evolution in administrative action that pushed Mayor Puccio to guarantee his availability to celebrate the rites on any day of the year, eliminating those bans on public holidays which affected eleven holidays during the year and created discomfort in the population concerned .
