During the night, the Carabinieri of the Messina Centro Company and of the Mobile Radio Nucleus of the Provincial Command of Messina intensified the controls on the territory of competence, in particular in the areas on the Tyrrhenian coast in the northern area of the Peloritan capital, a destination for summer nightlife.
During road traffic checks, the Carabinieri have checked over 50 people and more than 40 vehicleswith the contestation of various contraventions of the Highway Code and the complaint for illegal carrying of objects capable of offending a 40-year-old from Messina who, having shown himself reticent to police control, following a personal search, was found in possession of a 15 cm long switchbladewhose port was not justified and which, for this reason, was seized.
Furthermore a 53-year-old and a 39-year-old were reported for driving under the influence of alcohol as, controlled while driving vehicles, they were subjected to tests with a breathalyzer, highlighting an alcohol content higher than the permitted limits.
Instead, a 38-year-old was reported for refusal to undergo tests for driving under the influence of drugs while, in the context of anti-drug activity, four young people were reported to the Prefecture as drug users, as they were found in possession of small quantities of marijuana and crack. The seized drugs were sent to the RIS Carabinieri in Messina for laboratory analyses.
During the service, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, two people definitively convicted of the crime of receiving stolen goods were also arrested, who will serve their sentence under house arrest at their homes. Finally, another person was fined for having left waste on the street.
