It happened late Saturday afternoon when – for reasons still being investigated – the iron gate of a beach in Guardia Piemontese has collapsed overwhelming the child in front of the incredulous eyes of his parents and the tourists present at the beach facility.
The child was immediately rushed to the hospital in Cosenza and then underwent delicate surgery. The child suffered severe head trauma and abdominal injuries. The Paola Public Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into the incident and the beach was seized to allow for all the necessary investigations.
