Confirmed the precautionary measure in prison for the mum of the mother of the children mistreated in Paola, in the province of Cosenza. This was decided by the investigating judge at the end of the validation hearing. The 34 -year -old is accused of injuries and mistreatment against the two small of 4 and 2 years who, in recent weeks, had been hospitalized for fractures and injuries. The 34 -year -old was under house arrest for other events and, in recent days, he had been the recipient of a precautionary measure in prison for the story that shocked all of Italy when a 4 -year -old boy arrived in the Cosenza hospital with an inflammation of the testicles and injuries in various parts of the body. Wounds compatible with kicks, injuries similar to cigarette burns. At that point, the health workers warned the police who started the investigation. The investigating judge first decided a ban on approaching the mother and grandmother of the little ones. Then, a few days later the carabinieri of Paola arrived in the home of the children’s companion of the children, finding the 2 -year little brother in precarious health. At that point the other child was also taken to the hospital. The investigations ascertained that the children had been mistreated and the mother’s partner was taken to prison.
Today, the man appeared in front of Paola’s investigating magistrate, answering all the questions of the investigators and reiterating that he has never done anything to those two children. A version that, however, did not convince the judge who confirmed the precautionary measure in prison. The judge, in recent days, has also decided for the suspension of parental power both against the mother and the natural father of the two children (the latter is not investigated). According to the judge, the two parents would have been aware of the mistreatment suffered by the little ones by the mother’s new partner. In fact, in the light of the investigations (conducted by the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Cosenza and the command of Paola), the mother and grandmother would not have denounced the mistreatment that would have been perpetrated by the companion of the young mother. The latter is registered in the register of suspects for the story of the two children, but at the moment it is under house arrest for other crimes. Even the father of the children (who is not investigated) would not have denounced as far as he knows and it is for this reason that the judge decided to remove the parental authority from both parents. On the 13th the hearing for parental authority will take place.
