The mayor of Cittanova, municipality of the plain of Gioia Tauro, Domenico Antico, elected with a civic list inspired by the “Popular Alternative” movement by Stefano Bandecchi, would have attacked the former witness of justice Antonino Cento, founder of the Agricultural Cooperative ‘Zomaro Resort’, a dealership of some Aspromontible land cultivated with blueberries and apples. According to what was announced by the interested party through his Facebook profile, he was attacked by the mayor Cittanovese as he was taking him back with his cell phone while he was intent on checking some construction works in a property of his own.
“He snatched my shirt and said he killed me,” Cento wrote, launching the attack on social media, immediately became viral. It is the second episode that sees the protagonist of a hundred brawl and the administrators of the Municipality of Cittanova.
Last year, in fact, Antonino Centino had attacked the former mayor Giuseppe Cosentino, of the Democratic Party, for a question relating to the payments of the IMU by the cooperative managed by the former repentant, causing various wounds. Cento is also known for reporting in 2016, as part of the “Alchemia” operation of the DDA of Reggio Calabria, the Albanian-Raso-Gullace clan for an alleged extortion request concerning the conduct of the cooperative’s land. In January 2024, however, during the hearing before the Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria, Antonino Cento had revoked the establishment of a civil party against the ‘Ndrangheta by denouncing “the abandonment of the State and the prosecutors of Palmi and Reggio Calabria”.
