The reform of the EU cohesion policy continues at a sent step. The double “yes” to the urgent procedure obtained in rapid succession first in the Regi Commission and then in the plenary session of the European Parliament, the proponents of the provision is optimistic. However, regulatory acceleration is not exempt from criticism. The European Committee of the Regions expressed concern for the risk of an excessive centralization of control over funds, fearing that local needs can be neglected in favor of more vertical management.
