Next Sunday the center-left will celebrate the primaries to choose its candidate for mayor between Battaglia, Muraca and Canale; Lamberti Castronuovo’s civic center advances decisively and announces a “big surprise” for the next few days; Anna Nucera produces list symbols; Saverio Pazzano resigned as city councilor and continues on his “Road”; And what does the centre-right do? The center-right fiddles: they look in the mirror and see themselves as irresistible, they ask themselves questions and give themselves the answers they want to hear, they navigate through a thousand certainties and say they are sure they will (over)win, but they have not yet made their candidate for mayor official. Why? And the “why” becomes even more disturbing if you look at Venice and Messina – the other two metropolitan cities called to vote on May 24th – where the center-right has chosen its candidates without much drama and lucubration.
