Carrying out synergistic and systemic action in the interest of Calabria, its economic and social sphere, entrepreneurial realities and its community in the broadest sense, giving life to a specially dedicated permanent table. This is the proposal that emerged from the constructive moment of comparison that the delegation of Reeds Calabria he had with MEP Denis Nesci in the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels, the Official of the European Commission DG Regional and Urban Policies Gian Nicola Loithe Head of the Calabria Region Office in Brussels Carlo Polidori.
During the meeting, the main dossiers being dealt with by the Italian delegation to the European Parliament were discussed and, in particular, the projects that the Honorable Nesci is examining in depth, including policies for water, the environment and energy, customs, villages.
The president of Ance Calabria Roberto Rugnahead of the delegation of Calabrian building builders, underlined that “we follow the developments of the new European Commission, we have high expectations because we are aware that what the European Parliament discusses concerns very closely the growth of our territory. We are rightly worried about what will happen after the Pnrr, we hope that new policies for the South will be discussed in time”.
MEP Denis Nesci highlighted the importance of the work carried out in the European institutions because “what is decided between Brussels and Strasbourg will affect and define the strategic activity in Italy and in the regions. Cohesion policy is strategic, we must work together on the prospects to be able to seize the opportunities. The development of our land can take place from the synergy between associations, territories and institutions. I am here to represent a South that refuses to give up.”
The national vice-president of Ance Giovan Battista Perciaccante he said that “today more than ever there are the conditions to be able to grow and define the lines of a common commitment together. We have the skills to be able to do it and the sense of responsibility that drives us is profound. We are committed to offering opportunities to young people in a way that allows them to remain in Calabria. To the same extent we are concerned about the depopulation of our villages, which unfortunately economic statistics speak of every day, highlighting the present imbalances and the associated risks”.
