A certainly central theme of these hours remains that which concerns the “Marulla”. The redevelopment works on the two curves, in fact, should start at the beginning of June, an important step for a facility that needs attention and revitalization. But alongside the construction sites there is an even more delicate issue: that of the concession of the stadium to the Club. It is one of the most sensitive passages of the entire affair which revolves around the immediate future of Cosenza.
The City Council, last April 14th, gave the mayor Franz Caruso a mandate, «if the technical and legal conditions are in place», to deny permission for the use of the “Marulla” stadium. A political and administrative indication that weighs and opens up scenarios that are anything but secondary, because it directly affects one of the conditions necessary for planning the next season. Just yesterday the opposition returned to office with a press note.
The minority councilors (Francesco Caruso, Francesco Cito, Giuseppe D’Ippolito, Alfredo Dodaro, Francesco Luberto, Ivana Lucanto, Antonio Ruffolo, Francesco Spadafora and Michelangelo Spataro) ask for clarity on the sale of the club and recall the commitment made in the City Council. «Whoever has the fate of Cosenza in their hands today should choose the path of clarity, we read in the councilors’ note, «the city can no longer tolerate indefinite waits, opaque passages and new illusions but asks for a rapid, transparent and definitive solution».
