An important occasion. The Festa dell’Unità is for the Pd of Cosenza a useful event for internal discussion and, above all, significant for the external projection of the party.
It will start for five days next week and will be officially presented tomorrow by the secretary of the city club, Rose Caligiuri, from the council group leader, Francis Alimenafrom the provincial one, Joseph Ciacco, from the president of the city council, Joseph Mazzuca and from the municipal councilor Damiano Covelli.
There will be many guests (there are however no national big names except the new MEP De Caro) even if from the list of participants in the various conferences organised two important figures are missing at the provincial and regional level: the Democratic Party group leader in the regional council, Mimmo Bevacqua, and the vice-president of the regional council, Franco Iacucci, former president of the Province. Two “heavy” absentees who apparently spontaneously decided not to take part in the demonstration due to very “diplomatic”… previous commitments. The absence of Iacucci and Bevacqua confirms – beyond denials and clarifications of any kind – the existence of a very accentuated internal fracture among the Cosenza democrats.
