COSENZA – Three fundamental points to continue chasing the top. Cosenza arrived at the break out of breath but also with a success whose weight could become notable in January, when the Sila team will have to deal with a series of terrible matches. In order, Monopoli, Salernitana, Crotone and Catania (then Casertana). Stop and market (will Guarascio be ready?) allies of Buscè to dispose of the toxins.
Only one change compared to the trip to Trapani. D’Orazio replaced Ferrara, out due to physical problems. The Cosenza started with the turbo setup but then lowered the engine speed too much. Boffelli blocked Garritano’s effort after less than a minute. In the 7th minute, however, Langella started and finished the opening move. The midfielder recovered the ball. The plot continued through the feet of Florenzi and Ricciardi and was closed in the bottom corner to the right of the Cavese goalkeeper. During the celebrations, the Sila group took out Mazzocchi’s shirt, who will only return in March after the operation on his left shoulder.
The goal quenched Cosenza’s appetite, who were threatened by the guests in some cases between then and half-time. Amerighi’s header tested Vettorel’s level of attention, ready to deflect it for a corner (13′). After a suspicious Dametto-Guida contact, on which Totaro did not grasp the extremes to send Cavese from the spot even with the support of Fvs (31′), the Campania team worried the Wolves with a free kick from Orlando, which went just wide following a deflection into the barrier.
Prosperi’s team returned from the break with the idea of pushing but Kouan’s second, with the complicity of Boffelli (the ball thrown from about 20 meters slipped under his arm), gave the rossoblù a margin. A gap that became fundamental when, a few minutes later than the save on Achour’s header from D’Orazio’s cross (26′), Orlando turned with perfect coordination on Diarrassouba’s cross. Cosenza suffered at the end but Cavese never broke through again.
