“If I don’t come back tomorrow, burn everything. For Giulia and for everyone”, “Indifference is complicit”, “As much as you think yourselves absolved, you are forever involved”. These are just some of the signs that women of all ages displayed at the demonstration held in Cosenza against feminicides and against any form of violence and abuse against women. The initiative took place not only after the death of Giulia Cecchettin, the girl killed by Filippo Turetta near Venice, but also because tomorrow is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Many people, including men, took to the streets in Cosenza to say “enough” to feminicides and combat gender violence in every way. According to an estimate by the police, over a thousand people, including many men, participated in the demonstration. With various banners, smoke bombs and cowbells and shouting “today Cosenza is all feminist”, the participants in the demonstration marched along the main streets of the centre. The demonstration ended in front of the Municipality, where there was also a series of speeches.
