Bologna FC 1909 announces that it has entrusted the spring bench to Stefano Morronewhich is linked to the club until 30 June 2026 plus an option for the following year.

Born on 26 October 1978 a Cosenzahe began his football career in the youth sector of the Calabrian club, starting a professional path that saw him protagonist between Serie A and Serie B, until the retreat in Pisa, exactly ten years ago.

After retiring from football played, he embarked on a coach’s career in Parma – a club in which he played as a player from 2007 to 2013 – initially guiding the Under 17 formations and Beretti. In 2016 he was temporarily promoted to the leadership of the first team for two games.

At the end of that season he moved to Sassuolo, where the path in the youth sector continues, arriving at the helm of spring until February 2019.

In the following season he became deputy coach of Fabio Grosso at Brescia, a role that he also plays in subsequent experiences at Sion (Switzerland) and Frosinone, forming a solid technical combination.

In the summer of 2023 he entered the staff of Ternana as a technical collaborator of Cristiano Lucarelli. A year later, in July 2024, he was appointed coach of the Under 19: in the spring 2 season, he leads the young “Fere” to the promotion playoffs, where they are eliminated in the first round by Virtus Entella.

After the signature in rossoblù, he said: «I am very happy to start this new adventure in a great club like Bologna. Already last season I had followed many games, and when the company’s interest was born I started looking at them with even more attention. Here is an excellent group: after winning salvation at the playout, I expect even more motivation in view of the next season. When you suffer, the following year you have to leave with even more energy. Suffering fortifies, and we are ready to do well. I started training early because it has always been my passion, and I am happy to be able to do it by working with young people. I want to be a coach capable of transmitting enthusiasm, energy and passion. I like to create a positive environment, also through stories and anecdotes that help the boys to understand the world that awaits them in professional football. The goal is to grow, both as a technician and together with the boys. I like an aggressive, proactive, verticality -oriented football. My intent is to build a healthy and ambitious context, in which young people can develop at their best and get ready for the first team jump. I faced Italian several times as a player, and I’m glad to find him now in Bologna ».
