Cosenza also tries to get back on track in Cesena but – two goals down – the rossoblù reopen the challenge but are unable to regain the equalizer. Fumagalli tries to repeat himself but Klinsmann keeps the three points firm for the Bianconeri. Alvini’s team surrenders: 2-1.
At “Manuzzi”, first shot on goal in the sixth by Ricciardi who sends it wide, to the right of Klinsmann (6′).
Cesena’s reply, in the 12th minute, with Shpendi who deflects Ceesay’s cross with his heel, Micai deflects it into a corner. The Romagna players were dangerous with Berti (save by Mazzocchi) and Mangraviti (save Micai) in the next two corners. On the other side, Kouan has the lead after a ball delivered by Kourfalidis but Klinsmann takes refuge in the corner.
Calò’s free kicks are always dangerous, Cosenza knows this well. In the 23rd minute, on the right of the Trieste playmaker, Prestia comes close to scoring the goal favored by pinball with Venturi.
The hosts lose Shpendi. In his place was Tavsan, who scored two goals in nine minutes. The first – a header from Donnarumma’s cross – was disallowed for offside. The second, at Ceesay’s invitation, is regular. Before the break, Francesconi is not punctual on Antonucci’s low feed.
Cosenza tried to regroup at half-time but the Romagna team doubled their lead in the 12th minute of the second. The signature goes to Berti but much of the credit goes to Ceesay who cuts through Alvini’s rearguard and serves his teammate who fixes the ball, waits for the right moment and beats Micai. The Bianconeri, with ease, come close to scoring a trio but Tavsan kicks out.
Ricciardi reopens the match with a swing from outside. Ten minutes from the end, Klinsmann says no to Fumagalli from a few steps away. Huge opportunity for the equalizer defused by the home goalkeeper.
In the final, the Romagna players put the match to sleep and regained victory. At the final whistle, Kouan – very nervous – was sent off by Galipò and will miss the trip to Carrara.
