Three points wanted. Cosenza wants them in Picerno, not too far from where they won the only away match of this second round. In fact, just over twenty kilometers separate the Lucanian town from the provincial capital Potenza, where the Wolves carried out their last blitz away from the “Marulla” on March 5th. The victory is essential to return to third position in light of yesterday’s successes in Casertana and Salernitana.
The Sila team want to end the season well and Buscè repeated it to his team: «Cosenza’s needs must prevail over those of every other opponent». The coach doesn’t want to look further ahead to the playoffs yet, he wants to achieve the best possible placing in these last three games.
«At this point in the championship, motivations can make the difference. In this group it is very difficult if you don’t get into the role because every opponent will tear you to pieces just to save themselves. We saw the difficulties that the match against Foggia presented due to the fact that we were unable to close it. Nobody gives you anything, to survive you have to be shrewd and cunning. We must look forward, without thinking about what we have already done. The match against Picerno hides many difficulties, we must be ready. We can’t find alibis, we need an important performance. The away trend changed, I didn’t give myself an explanation. In some cases, episodes also influenced the results. At home we found a regular pace but we don’t think too much about this aspect. We played good matches, giving our all in each of them. We always take the field to win.”
The coach was satisfied with the growth of some elements, starting with Contiliano: «From January onwards he achieved important continuity. The market has changed our skin a little. He earned everything he was given. He never lowered the level for which he deserved the title.” Achour is finding less space: «He is a player that we don’t want to put aside for any reason even though he doesn’t play much. There are various players who deserve more space but unfortunately choices have to be made. However, they all train very well. Achour has been useful to us in various circumstances and I am sure he will be useful again. For our way of playing, other elements are more congenial. But in the process we could have two tips. In any case, there is always maximum availability on his part. For some time now we have also been trying to get him to start as a winger to come inside in training and he is responding very well.”
