The government will not challenge the change to the Statute of the Calabria Region which provides for the possibility of appointing up to 9 councilors in the Council and appointing two undersecretaries to the presidency. The decision, which represents the green light for the change, was taken during today’s Council of Ministers on the proposal of the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies Roberto Calderoli.
«The Council of Ministers – it is written in the note issued after the meeting – on the proposal of the Minister for regional affairs and autonomies Roberto Calderoli, examined twenty-four laws of the regions and autonomous provinces and therefore decided not to challenge the statutory legislative resolution of the Calabria Region of 01/29/2026, containing “Amendments and additions to the Regional Law of 19 October 2004, n. 25 (Statute of the Calabria Region)””. The law was approved by the Regional Council at second reading on the proposal of the majority after the green light at first reading last November.
