Important day at Palazzo De Nobili for the future of the municipal administration. First the resignation of the councilor for Public Works Raffaele Scalise then the meeting between the centre-left parties to seal a new pact in support of the mayor Nicholas Flowery.
Yesterday morning, engineer Scalise filed his resignation. A decision that had been circulating in the corridors of Palazzo De Nobili for some time. There should be no surprise for his successor either: the current chief of staff Pasquale Squillace. The latter’s role should instead be covered by Salvatore Bullotta, currently a consultant with administrative assistance functions and qualified support in the planning of cultural events and initiatives for the city. Mayor Fiorita, in acknowledging the resignation formalized by councilor Raffaele Scalise, who resigned his responsibilities for professional reasons, publicly thanked him for “the commitment shown in these first two years of administration and for having signed off on important projects and operations destined to impact the future of Catanzaro. Land management and public works are the sectors in which the Municipality of Catanzaro is forced to deal with many critical issues every day, linked to the maintenance of a territory as large as that of the capital, and with the restrictions linked to current spending that now grip all local authorities. However, Councilor Scalise approached his task with enthusiasm and determination, making available his wealth of experience and knowledge and trying not only to resolve small daily emergencies, but also to intercept resources and plan wider-ranging works and interventions”.
