In recent years he has pointed out above all for his participations in television programs for which he sits on the jury as “Tale and which show” by Carlo Conti and “Friends” of Maria De Filippi (in the evening,). But Cristiano Malgioglio, who turns 80 on April 23, is much more than his extravagant costumes and his observations sometimes over the top. Giuseppe Cristiano Malgioglio da Ramacca (in the province of Catania) is, first of all, a great author of songs. His curriculum includes songs such as “The important thing is to end”, “Love cocktail”, “Forte Forte” and “Chocolate ice cream (led to success respectively by Mina, Stefania Rotolo, Raffaella Carrà and Pupo) that everyone hummed at least once in their lives.
His working life begins none other than at the post office: is the first job that he finds once arrived in Genoa from Sicily. The Ligurian capital is the cradle of songwriters such as Gino Paoli, Luigi Tenco and Fabrizio De André and it is precisely the latter who procures the first appointment with a record company. In 1974 “Hello dear how are you?”, The song he wrote for Iva Zanicchi, wins the Sanremo Festival and marks the beginning of a series of collaborations with the greatest interpreters, from Mina to Ornella Vanoni, from Patty Pravo to Marcella Bella, from Dori Ghezzi to Giuni Russo and many others. In 1977 he also released an album, “scandal” which, however, does not achieve great success as happens, instead, to the second, “peel me”. Many others will follow (he has published about thirty) while success also expands to Latin America. In 2000 there is also television notoriety: Massimo Giletti wants him by his side in “Casa Raiuno” and the same does Carlo Conti in “The recommended” in which he entrusts him with the role of the “bad” opinion. Over the years, he will also be a commentator on “Big Brother” (both with the conduct of Alessia Marcuzzi and with that of Barbara D’Urso) of which he becomes a competitor for the second edition of the VIP version as well as twice at “The Island of the Famous” conducted first by Simona Ventura and then by Nicola Savino. He also works with Piero Chiambretti in “Grand Hotel Chiambretti” and in “CR4 – La Repubblica delle Donne”. As a conductor, in 2022, he proposed on Rai2 “Mi Casa Es Tu Casa”. In 2024 Malgioglio, who never hid his homosexuality, published the album “Fernando”, dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo. Another champion, Mauro Icardi, a few years earlier had inspired him the single “O Maior Golpe do Mundo (I fell in love with your husband”.
Finally, Malgioglio also took part in some films such as “of what a sin you are” by Pierfrancesco Pintore and “Viva l’Italia” by Massimiliano Bruno. Of his private life it is known that he is engaged to Furkan, a forty -year -old Turkish nutritionist, and that he adopted three Cuban boys: William, Riccardo and Omara to whom he said he was very tied.
