Fatal accident on Highway 107 in the afternoon just before 5pm with the tragic toll of two dead and two seriously injured. A collision between two cars, a Fiat Grande Punto and a Wolksvagen Golf, each occupied by two people, caused the occupants of the Fiat to die instantly, while the other two, after being pulled from the wreckage by firefighters, were in very serious conditions. they were transported to hospital. The victims who were traveling in the Fiat were a boy and a girl from Crotone, Piero Riolo and Lorenza Aloisio, both of whom died instantly. However, the other two people who were traveling on board the Golf were mother and daughter.
It happened in the Brasimato area at km 131.5 on SS 107. At the time of the accident it was raining heavily in the area.
The hypothesis being made at the moment is that the accident may have been caused by the asphalt made slippery by the rain.
During the rescue operations, the state road was temporarily blocked and traffic diverted to a nearby parallel road. The Traffic Police was also on site to investigate the case.
