Crotone wastes the great opportunity to win: at the “San Nicola” in Bari against Monopoli it ends 2-2 after a match in which the Sharks go ahead twice and also miss the penalty for a possible 3-1. The advantage arrives in the 14th minute: Crapisto verticalizes for Zunno, who enters the area and surpasses Tommasi. Olivieri equalized with a header in the 31st minute, but 6′ later Musso brought the rossoblù back ahead by taking advantage of a ball that remained alive after Colombara’s intervention.
In the second half Crotone continues to create. Musso first finds the closure of Valenti, then from the spot he has the penalty won by Zunno rejected by Tommasi. In the 64th minute everything changes: Merelli misses the exit and Cerretti scores the 2-2 from close range. In the final, another heavy episode: Valenti intervenes on Zunno in the area, but Ambrosino lets it go and confirms the choice even after the Fvs review. For Greco’s team there remains the regret of a match built to win and not closed when they had the opportunity.
