The multipurpose sports facility in the Bernabò district was inaugurated this afternoon. The mayor symbolically cut the ribbon on the structure Vincenzo Vocethe prefect Franca Ferraro and the councilor for PNRR and Sports Facilities Luca Bossi Civil authorities, councilors and city councilors were present as well as many residents of the popular neighborhood. A completely renovated structure that falls within the planning of the PNRR and Sports Facilities department which includes the construction of eight interventions in the neighborhoods of the city which are leading to the creation of nineteen playgrounds for multiple disciplines. Specifically, the system inaugurated today, built with the PNRR – Inclusion and Cohesion funding, consists of a 7-a-side synthetic grass football pitch, a multi-purpose concrete tennis and 5-a-side football pitch, the construction of a changing room. This is accompanied by new LED lighting, a new electrical system, new fences and an equipped play area. A financial commitment of 1,333,333 euros for the construction of an innovative structure in the neighborhood.

“It is not just a sports facility but a real social meeting point, dedicated not only to athletes but to families and children. We are gradually transforming our neighborhoods by restoring liveability” said Mayor Voce. “It is a structure that brings with it the values ​​of inclusion, integration and above all the belonging to a neighborhood on the part of its residents. Thanks to the entire team of the institution, to the designers, to the companies that carried out the intervention. It is a further demonstration of the virtuous management of community funds by the municipal administration as well as a sign of concrete political action” said councilor Luca Bossi.
