«This is certainly not the time to rejoice, but neither is it the time to guiltily let your ships sink with their respective captains on board». With these words, the city secretary of the Crotone PD tried to put an end to the numerous controversies that preceded and followed last Wednesday’s assembly. «I ask – added Caiazza – the friends of the Democratic Party of Crotone to unite in the defeat to open up, in a not too distant tomorrow, to the victory that we have all set on our horizons».
The assembly, called by the secretary to analyze the very meager spoils won by the Dems in the capital (just 8.12% and third place in the coalition), actually turned into a harsh clash between the city secretary and the assembly. Even the former mayor Gaetano Grillo, who at the congress had supported his candidacy against that of Giuseppe Ferragina, asked Caiazza to take a step back, believing that there are no longer the conditions to continue.
