This time Enrico Pedace decided to contact Matteo Salvini directly. The municipal councilor of Crotone of the “Consensus” group has in fact asked the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport to ensure public lighting is restored along State Road 106 in the Passovecchio, Margherita, San Giorgio and Poggio Pudano areas.

Pedace, citing the reports of 3 July and 2 December 2019, recalls that “nothing has been done to resolve the problem” in the “stretch of road” under scrutiny. Where, we read in the letter sent yesterday, “two fatal accidents have occurred over the years” since in the evening the artery becomes “extremely dangerous”. The latest accident occurred yesterday, when a foreigner was hit in the Poggio Pudano area. «In various points – complains the city councilor – the public lighting poles are missing and the existing ones do not work as in the stretch that goes from the “Le Spighe” shopping center to the “Villaggio dei Fiori” (Margherita area)” which are “completely in the dark ». As well as «from the Passovecchio roundabout, going towards Poggio Pudano» with the crossroads for the hamlet of Papanice which is unlit. Without forgetting, the letter continues, “that the entire area is rapidly expanding due to the location of numerous shopping centers and shops, with the attendance of a large number of users coming not only from the city centre, but from the entire province”. This is why Pedace asked Salvini for “serious and concrete interventions” in order to create “an urgent public lighting system”.
