He allegedly abused a young tourist near a nightclub in Crotone on August 8th. The Flying Squad investigators arrested him for sexual assault, in execution of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office.
The victim showed up at the police station to report the violence and the specialized “Crimes against the person” section of the Mobile immediately activated the “Code Red” procedure, starting the investigation and adopting the necessary measures to protect the offended person.
The complaint and reconstruction of the attack
The girl had gone dancing with some friends at a nightclub in the city. Here she would have been approached by a young man who would then have attacked her in a place near the club. According to what emerged from the investigations, the man had been employed to ensure safety inside the nightclub together with some peers, without complying with the hiring procedures.
The investigators, thanks to the victim’s statements, testimonies and other elements, reconstructed what happened and identified the alleged perpetrator, allowing the Crotone Prosecutor’s Office, led by Domenico Guarascio, to ask the investigating judge to issue the order.
Irregular security, fines of 10,000 euros
The investigations also revealed alleged serious irregularities in the management of the venue’s security services. In particular, the arrested person, together with other subjects, would have been employed in surveillance and access control activities without the required requirements and authorizations. For this reason, the Administrative Police has imposed fines of 10,000 euros and has requested the Labor Inspectorate for the aspects of competence relating to the fight against illegal work.
In the same facility, a few days before the violence, a fight had occurred involving several people. For that circumstance, and also on the basis of the evaluation of the documents which at the time were subject to secret investigation, the police commissioner of Crotone Renato Panvino had issued a provision suspending the disco’s license for 15 days.
