The investigation of the last hundred requests for contributions, worth approximately 2 million euros, has begun in favor of companies damaged by Cyclone Harry and the Niscemi landslide, thanks to the measure managed by Irfis. With the publication in the Official Journal of the law approved by Parliament, which effectively overcomes the challenge of the Council of Ministers on the regional law relating to the obligation of the Durc (Single Document of Contribution Regularity), the unblocking of the remaining practices begins. This brings the total amount of contributions provided by the Region for the affected businesses to around 15 million euros. Payments to companies will be made early next week.

«The problem of the frozen practices after the derogation from the Durc has been resolved, thanks – says the President of the Region, Renato Schifani – to an interlocution with the national government started even before the purely technical appeal from the Council of Ministers and the payment of the requests not yet settled for the necessary integration of the documentation. Let’s move forward quickly to concretely help businesses and enter the actual reconstruction phase. We do this through a package of benefits that combines zero-interest loans and non-repayable contributions, from the Sicily Fund, to support the expenses necessary to relaunch the production of activities damaged by bad weather.”

Furthermore, on Tuesday 12 May, the web platform will open for the submission of applications to Irfis FinSicilia relating to financing of up to 400 thousand euros for investments in damaged companies, for a financial allocation of 18 million euros.
