Jannik Sinner keeps Italy afloat at the Davis Finals. After the defeat of Matteo Arnaldi at the hands of Botic Van de Zandschulp, it is the South Tyrolean tennis player number 4 in the world and fresh from the final lost at the ATP Finals in Turin who scores the 1-1 draw against the Netherlands: on the fast indoor of the Palacio de Deportes José María Martin Carpena of Malaga, Sinner rules 7-6(3) 6-1 Tallon Griekspoor, number 23 ATP, after an hour and 13 minutes of play.
The quarter-final between the Azzurri and Orange will therefore be resolved with doubles: the program included Simone Bolelli and Lorenzo Sonego on one side and Wesley Koolhof and Tallon Griekspoor on the other but then Sinner ousted the expert doubles player. The winner of Italy-Holland will challenge Serbia and Great Britain in the semi-final.
