The Calabria Region will allocate 15 million euros against the high cost of fuel. The president of the Regional Council Roberto Occhiuto announced it on social media, anticipating the approval of a provision in the next session of the Regional Council, scheduled for Monday. «Here, this too is done», says Occhiuto in a video, showing the measure which, he explains, «will be approved on Monday in the Regional Council due to the high cost of fuel and diesel».
The consequences for workers and families
«Due to the wars, the price of diesel has skyrocketed: it is a drama, a tragedy for all those who use tractors, trucks, cars to go to work», states the president. A problem which, he underlines, also concerns families: «Inflation is increasing, the price of transported goods arriving on our tables and in our homes is increasing».
«The government is intervening with the oil companies to lower the price of diesel, the price of petrol, but it is right that everyone does their best, including the Region», adds Occhiuto.
Resources and the passage to the Regional Council
The president reports on a discussion carried out during the week with councilors Gallo and Calabrese, the vice-president of the council and the president of the regional council, to identify resources. «We were looking for resources to help those who work with tractors, trucks and cars. It wasn’t easy, we found them: 15 million euros is the maximum that the Calabria Region can do and it will do so on Monday in the Regional Council by approving this measure against expensive diesel”, he concludes.
