The carabinieri of the Palmi Company have carried out two prevention measures, personal and patrimonial, against a 27 year old from Delianuovarecently sentenced to 3 years in prison for an armed robbery that occurred in March at the Delianuova post office.
The Carabinieri’s investigations began immediately: cross-referenced information, discoveries of clothing, biological sampling and careful observations of the crime scene led the police to identify and report the man at large as the alleged culprit. During the proceedings the subject had therefore decided to enter into a plea bargain which resulted in the Court of Palmi’s sentence of 3 years in prison. The man was already known to the police: the Carabinieri of the Livorno Provincial Command had arrested him in 2021 with a large amount of cash, well above his declared income.
This scenario led the military to propose the 27-year-old for prevention measures aimed at limiting his social danger and seizing the assets and money recognized as proceeds of illicit activities. The Court of Reggio Calabria therefore accepted the Carabinieri’s proposal, identifying in the man the conditions for being subjected to special surveillance and for the confiscation of over 260 thousand euros in cash, insurance, brokerage companies, movable assets and various credit instruments.
